Editing…

This is what editing looks like in my world.  The first scene of Chapter 2 is latched to the clipboard, and you can see I intend to make an adjustement or two there.  :^P

Of course, you can’t edit without your handy Critique Circle printout.

Since I am living out of a hotel six hours from home, I hope to get a decent amount done this week.  Expect the answers to the question sheet I posted within the next couple days.

  1. Lol, I can see my name in those CC printouts O:). I am the torturer. I do all my editing on the computer – save some trees (actually, it’s because I don’t have a printer :() 🙂

    • There are some things that I just have to do with pencil and paper.

And yes, that’s you and Mysti on the printout. I only had 2 crits for this draft, and it still printed out to 15 pages. I brought my printer with me on my trip, so it is ready and waiting at the hotel.

  2. I see mine too! Lovely editing layout–I’ve got a clipboard somewhere around here…

    • That clipboard has been through h#ll and back with me. I can’t imagine what I would do if I lost it. It’s crazy what things we get attached to, isn’t it?

As to the layout, double spaced lines, and double-double spaced paragraphs give me lots of room to scratch in my corrections!

  3. I don’t know what it is, but I just edit so much better from the screen. i’ve tried printing it out, but it doesn’t work well for me. What I do now is play with the font or color to trick myself into gaining some distance from it.

Nice to see a fellow CCer!

    • The print-out allows me to laze about in the bed while I make changes. That’s me excuse anyway. Never mind the fact that most of the first draft was written on my laptop while laying in the very same bed!

Changing the font and color: That’s actually pretty clever. I hadn’t thought of that. Is it enough of a change to make you concentrate on what you are reading? If so, then I am going to try that when I do my final read-through before I post my chapters back up on CC!

      Also, thanks for stopping by!
